Smoked oak goes through an ammonia chamber: the tannins react and brown through the thickness, from havana to deep brown. A natural shimmer no stain can imitate — sold per m², factory direct.
What is the difference between smoked and stained oak?
Smoking colours the wood through its thickness by tannin reaction; stain sits on the surface. The result: natural nuances board by board, and a scratch that never reveals pale wood.
Is a smoked floor hard to maintain?
No: in a matte brushed finish it is very forgiving — dust mostly shows on smooth, glossy dark floors. Routine care is enough.
Which rooms suit a dark floor?
A bright living room, a bedroom, a study: rooms where you want an enveloping mood. For a windowless hallway or a north-facing room, prefer a light smoked tone.
